This weekend, I had the privilege of serving Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. Mark is widely known as the producer of a few TV shows (Survivor, The Voice, The Apprentice) and Roma is best known for her role as the Angel on Touched by an Angel. They are the creators of the Bible series on the History Channel. Mark and Roma met with Pastor Rick Warren, who’s been one of the consultants on the series’ production. They had an open forum on Saturday morning and a meet and greet with the church where it was on a national simulcast. They were also present at all five weekend services and talked about their trials, experiences, and lessons from the production of the Bible series. At the end of the 11:15 service on Sunday, they present Pastor Rick a 17th century Bible as a gift of thanks.
